Production Water

Produced water is the water that is extracted with crude oil from an oil well. It is usually naturally present in the formation. Petroleum engineers and geologists terminate their wells in such a way as to minimize the amount of water extracted with the oil. As the well ages, there is less oil present in the formation. Water, due to its lower viscosity, finds its way to the well. In many instances, oil wells produce more water than oil. Effective separation can reduce the cost of treatment of both the oil and water and/or increase their market value.

With HYDRASEP®, you can recover pipeline quality crude at low cost and provide produced water with virtually no oil that is easier to post-treat or dispose of.

What does it mean for you?

  • Pipeline quality crude.
  • Cleaner produced water.
  • Lower operating cost.
  • More savings for your operation.

Fracking Water Recovery

Easy to reach crude oil is pretty much a thing of the past. Today’s wells are deeper, harder to access, and require the use of advanced technologies such as directional drilling and hydraulic fracturing to effectively produce oil and gas. Millions of gallons of water are sometimes hauled into fracture a well then hauled out for treatment. In many instances, this water can be treated on-site and reused.

With the discovery or revival of many shale formations such as the Bakken, Marcellus, Eagle Ford, and others, drilling, fracking (fractionation), and production have been on the rise in the USA. Millions of gallons of water are used per frac job. With the scarcity of resources due to droughts and environmental regulations, treating and reusing frac water is becoming more desirable.

HYDRASEP® can help you treat your frac flow back water and produced water in-line and on-site AND recover pipeline quality crude.

What does that mean for you?

  • No oil dumped into ponds or storage.
  • Crude is recovered before it weathers.
  • Less work to do on the back end, less time on site.
  • Less loading on post-treatment processes such as desalination.
  • Consequently, your job is done faster and better which translates into savings.
